Partial Dentures in St Kilda, Elwood, Caulfield, Balaclava & Surrounds
For patients who require only some teeth to be replaced (or added to your existing denture), we offer 4 different solutions in partial dentures. Your Dental Prosthetist will assess your individual needs in your free initial consultation and recommend the most suitable solution for you.
Metal (Cobalt-Chrome) Partial Denture
Cobalt-chrome metal dentures are made up of a thin metal frame that sits on and around your natural teeth. This design offers the ideal combination of durability and slim fit and is the most comfortable for the wearer. The use of medical-grade metal in the denture frame allows us to design longer-lasting, thinner dentures (as thin as 0.3mm!) that cover a smaller area of the mouth. They also allow you to experience a more natural taste and texture sensation while eating, as well as feel the temperature of your food.
Belkin Denture Clinic’s ability to design these dentures in-house means we can guarantee an accurate fit and grip and make any adjustments necessary on the spot.
Combination (Metal And Flexi) Partial Denture
We also offer a combination denture in cases where the metal clasp cannot be hidden due to missing back teeth or a high smile line. This option offers the benefits and comfort of a thin metal frame, but with clear flexible clasps in place of metal for better aesthetics. Flexible clasps are preferable in cases where the front teeth must be clasped so that no metal is seen when the mouth is open.
Flexible Partial Denture
Flexi-dentures are the latest in high-tech materials and are a discreet alternative to metal cobalt chrome dentures. Both the base and clasps of your denture are made from a gum-coloured, semi-pliable material making them almost invisible. Flexi-dentures are also an excellent option for people who are allergic to acrylic materials as they are made from a low allergenic material.
Acrylic Partial Denture
Partial dentures made from an acrylic base are the most cost effective option, however they are bulkier than metal or flexible dentures. They are also the quickest to produce. Therefore they are the most commonly recommended as a transitional denture while waiting for a more permanent solution.
